Surviving Managed Care: SL One Day ICP MMAI Challenge with Polsinelli - Springfield Location

This half day session will include a comprehensive update for SL providers on the new challenges the SLs face with the implementation of managed care,  and the implications for providers. The session will cover the major issues being faced by providers and the issues that have hampered the MCO?s efforts. The presentation will review Senate Bill 741 as well as the important terms under the MCO agreement to give additional protection to providers and beneficiaries.

At the conclusion of the conference participants will be able to:

1.  Identify provider rights that they have under SB 741 as well as the the MCO Agreement itself;

2.  Promptly address issues with significant delays in payment by the networks and the rights providers have under the contract and law;

3.  Understand the process as it relates to billing and the importance on the proper submission of claims;

4.  Tackle the hurdles of the lengthy preauthorization process and knowing your rights under the law;

5.  Know the resident?s rights to services they are entitled to under the program;

6. Understand the steps to challenge the process both under the contract and with HFS;

7.  Understand the key issues that will gain in importance as the program continues to evolve and how providers can best position themselves to move forward; and

8.  Understand the practical problems and challenges that SLF providers have experienced with the MCOs and how to prevent or mitigate similar issues.
